Blog 4: Musician

Hi everyone, I don't have a particular favorite genre, on the contrary, I always listen to different music and I like to discover new songs and artists, but I must admit that Arctic Monkeys is one of my favorite bands.

Arctic Monkeys is composed of Alex Turner who is the vocalist and the lead guitarist, Matt Helders who is the drummer, Nick O'Malley who plays the bass and the guitarist Jamie Cook. This band began to form in Sheffield, England in 2002 as a typical band of friends who played in a garage. Over time they began to play in small bars but it was in 2006 when they became famous in UK with their debut album "Whatever people say I am, that's what I'm not". Then they started playing in big festivals. Another of their best known albums is "AM" from 2013.

I don't remember how long ago I heard this band for the first time, I only remember having listened to some of their most recognized songs a long time ago. But it was in the quarantine when I began to listen to all their discographic works and I think it was like 3 weeks in which I only listened to Arctic Monkeys and I learned many of their songs. I think that when I began to pay attention to the content of their lyrics and to see his concerts on YouTube, I liked them more and more. As one listens to their albums, one can appreciate how they have evolved in technical things such as voices, because at the beginning of the band they were still teenagers, the quality of their videos and experimentation with different styles. I also really like the concepts of each album, as in the first in which they talk about nightlife experiences and in the last one "Tanquility base hotel & casino" whose main theme is a hotel located on the moon.
